Q 1. What are the dates of the IAAF World Championships in London?

A. The IAAF World Championships are being held from Friday 4 – Sunday 13 August, 2017.

Q 2. Where is the event being held?

A. The 2017 IAAF World Championships are being held at The Stadium, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London – the venue for the 2012 Olympic Games athletics competition.

Q 3. When can I buy my fan package or tickets to the Aussie Aths Fans Supporters’ Tour to the 2017 IAAF World Athletics Championships in London?

A. The first opportunity to purchase an Aussie Aths Fans Supporters’ Tour package will be Thursday 1st September 2016.

Q 4. When is the final deadline for buying a fan package?

A. The final deadline for buying a fan package is 4th April, 2017 unless sold out earlier. We cannot guarantee that we will be able to assist after this time.

Q 5. What is included in the fan package?

There are two different fan packages on offer – a land only package or a full package with flights included. Some inclusions you will see across both packages are the accommodation, championship tickets to all evening sessions of the athletics, supporters’ merchandise kit, welcome function, on the ground support in London and the unique aths fan experience. Q 6. What if I only want championship tickets and not a fan package?

A. We are not a ticket agency for the event, nor an official travel agent for the event. We are athletics fans who have put together a fan package, and extended the invite to like-minded Aussie aths fans to join us.

If you are simply after championship tickets, these are available through the official event website (www.london2017athletics.com) for all sessions and categories. However due to the popularity of the event, public ticket sales are being conducted via a ballot system. Purchasing a fan package through the Aussie Aths Fans Supporters’ Tour is the best way to guarantee tickets to the event!

Q 7. Are tickets to all sessions included in the fan package?

A. The fan package includes a Category C ticket to every evening session of the IAAF World Athletics Championships in London. This is 10 sessions in total.

You may also choose the optional add-on to include a Category C morning session championship ticket pack in your tour package. There are four morning sessions in total.

The morning session ticket package cost is $AUD265 which gives you entry into all 4 morning sessions throughout the championships.

These are the only two championships ticket options available via the Aussie Aths Supporters’ Tour – all evening sessions (standard tour package) or all evening/morning sessions (with morning session add-on).

Q 8. What are the categories for the ticket seating?

A. The tickets included in the tour package are Category C. We have requested Category C tickets towards the front of the upper seating bowl on the back straight, between the mid-point of the back straight and the point adjacent to the finish line. The final placement will be determined by the local organising committee.

Q 9. What if I only want championship tickets to specific sessions and not all evening sessions, or if I want different category tickets?

A. We are not offering alternative ticketing options as part of the Aussie Aths Fans Supporters’ Tour – just the two options – Category C all evening sessions or Category C all morning and evening sessions. If you want something different in terms of ticketing you are best advised to purchase directly with the local organising committee via the public ticket ballot.

Q 10. When will I know the schedule of events / championship timetable?

A. The draft timetable for the championships can be found here.

Q 11. I am a family member of a prospective Australian team member, but don’t know yet whether they will be in the team. What should I do?

A. To ensure you don’t miss out on championship tickets, you should book a land only package at this time – please contact the travel team to discuss your specific requirements, and we will aim to be as flexible as possible with regard to extended confirmation dates. Please don’t make contact with us for the first time in July – we will not be able to assist at that time.

Q 12. How far from the stadium is the hotel we’re staying at?

A. Our hotel is located in central London within walking distance to Tottenham Court Road Station, on the London Underground central line. The trip to the stadium is around 30mins, and a direct line.

The hotel is located within walking distance to Oxford Street, Covent Garden and Soho and close to many of the famous West End theatres.

Q 13. Are all my airport transfers included in the package?

A. All packages include a return transfer on the Heathrow express. If you are not purchasing a flight inclusive package we recommend you fly into the Heathrow airport.

Q 14. How do we get to and from the stadium each day?

A. Public transport is the best and easiest way to get to and from Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park where the stadium is located. Included in your package is a 10-day tube pass. Our hotel is conveniently located within walking distance to the central line. We will catch this daily to Stratford station, which is located next to Olympic Park.

Q 15. Will I have free time to go sight-seeing?

A. Yes! The package is quite flexible and you will have plenty of time to go sightseeing – particularly in the mornings due to the event schedule. We have will offer some optional group activities which you are welcome to add to your package.

Alternatively, the Mummu travel team have plenty of knowledge of London and can help advise different activities for you to do if you so wish.

Q 16. Can I upgrade my flights?

A. Yes – if you are interested in upgrading your flights please let us and we will be able to quote you on the additional cost to do so.

Q 17. What if I want to continue travelling after the event?

A. Please stipulate if you would like to add some of your own additional travel to the end (or beginning of your trip) and we will happily accommodate this. If you are purchasing a flight inclusive package we will be able to accommodate your flights to suit the dates you wish to travel.

Q 18. Do I need a visa to travel to the UK?

A. If you are an Australian citizen you will not need a visa to travel to the UK.

Q 19. When will I receive my championship tickets?

A. This will be dependent on the ticket distribution date by the local organising committee. If we receive the tickets early enough, we will distribute in advance in Australia. If we receive them close to the championships, we will likely distribute them at the tour hotel in London on your arrival as we did in Beijing.

Q 20. What meals are included in the package?

A. Daily breakfast is included in the package. All other meals are not included.
